Just another day on the savannah
So, I was wandering around and I found this lion looking out over his territory. Naturally, I thought the best way to approach was to sneak up on him – what could possibly go wrong? (It was either that or run at him yelling “kitty!” – I thought this would work better.)
It took a little while, but now we’re the best of friends. He gives the very best cuddles.
He even supports my shopping habits. As out of control as they can be at times. You can get your own lion at the Zodiac event – if you can get there before it closes tonight. I’ve been having problems teleporting. It’s from Studio Sidhe – I don’t know if it will be available after the event. My shoes (Handverk) and skin (Candydoll) are also from the Zodiac event. I think the awesomeness of the shoes are pretty self-explanatory… they’re claw pumps!
Now, for a closer view of this great new skin from Candydoll. The eye shading is so wonderfully dreamy and soft. I did add freckles from Essences and Glam Affair, but that’s it. My favorite feature though, has got to be the mouth. The barest hint of teeth opens the mouth just enough, but not too much – you know what I mean?

GSpot Organics is a store that’s new to me, but I really like what I’ve seen so far. They have a mini dress out at One Voice with quite a few options – the fine knit version is my favorite. I was going to wear it out, but it’s late, so I think I’m going to be staying in tonight… man, I’m old.

There really isn’t anything else like it…
My best friend spent most of the day controlling my television, which can be one of the most boring things ever. While we have a lot in common, she has a penchant for watching reality TV that can be just painful. There’s only so many times I can watch the Real Housecats of San Bernadino before I want to claw my eyes out. It usually leaves me sitting around wondering when can we ever do something else.
Not that I do much other than watch TV when I’m alone. But I think that has a lot to do with my never getting to choose what’s on my television – like ever. When I do get to choose, it’s almost always something on one of the history channels. There’s this channel – the whole channel is like a train wreck. It’s the “wealth” channel on cable. I don’t know if you’ve watched it, but it often has programs like you’d find on the history channel – you know, when it still showed stuff about history instead of reality shows. Anyway, it had a show on about Roman history and I couldn’t stop myself from watching. I tried, but I couldn’t stop.
I’m a little dubious of their “sources” – it’s like facts had no bearing on the show.I’m not talking about little mixups, but mis-identifying emperors, or who built the Coliseum – you know, little things like that. They’re a TV show, they should check their facts – in my humble opinion. And where do they find their “academincs”? Seriously, who would hire these people? Sigh.

Good use for paper…
I deal with a lot of paper every day, and sometimes I think the best use for it is as confetti. On the other hand, there are other options…
I’ve had my share of medical files as well – probably more than my share – which is part of why I like this collar from .Shi (for Back to Black) so much. The journey through and to mental health can be extraordinarily frustrating, and awareness is a huge step in the right direction.
I know I’m running close to closing time, but quickly get over there and learn a bit, there is a lot of good information around. That isn’t even mentioning the personal stories that people have shared, sometimes all it takes for someone to get help is for them to know that they aren’t the only ones going through this – they’re not alone. No, we’re not alone. So… go, learn…shop.

Drafty
Waiting around for someone to show up … or a blogger to post (like me) – you start to notice how drafty it is up here in the attic.
I have a weird little thing where I can’t blog if I’m kind of blah in my physical life. Part of it is trying not to use this forum as an outlet for venting my frustrations, part of it is I have no motivation to do much of anything when my physical life isn’t going so well – for whatever reason. In any case, I’m trying to get over that. Not to use this as a forum for venting necessarily, but as an outlet that keeps me doing something I enjoy – because I do enjoy putting together what other people create and taking a picture of it. And just maybe that will help break the cycle.
Anyway, enough of that. Many thanks have to go to Luna Jubilee for her original 52 Weeks challenge – and keeping it going for round 2. I haven’t quite kept up, but I promised myself I would finish round 1, so here goes. I have everything styled – I just have to get to taking the pictures. A Little Lift
Sometimes… it’s nice to let someone else do the lifting and just hang on. Like, when you need a nap.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure if these skins/hunt gifts are still available, but they were around as of the middle of last week. I’m still posting this because I really like how the picture came out, and I’m sure that the Elven tones of these skins will include a shade similar to this one (there’s usually a very light shade available). Apricot Houses
Playing catch-up on the 52 weeks of color challenge (I’m sure you’ve all heard that before)…
The top is from Indie Rose – a wonderful store with an awesome creator! Like I mentioned in my Melon post, “salmon” has served me well during this color challenge! I was totally on board with looking at this top and seeing it as a salmon color, but I can see how it like apricot, and was pretty much right on when I compared the RGB values. Funny how what we actually see, and what definitions say we should see, are often different things.
The house (that you can only see a tiny bit of here) is from *Funky Junk*. You’ll see it again in my next post as well, and I just love it. It reminds me of home. Where I grew up, you had a great view of the mountains, you were 20 minutes from the beach – and could drive to any weather you wanted. No, I didn’t grow up in a bubble, but it felt like it sometimes. Now that I’m not there, things like this house make me a bit nostalgic – I guess everything is better in hindsight.

Exorcising?
Remember, in the 80s and early 90s, when exercise was all about aerobics so you’d go and be in these outfits and then dance around to music and you looked ridiculous, but everyone looked ridiculous in unison? No, seriously though, it happened. It still happens some places in New Jersey. (I’m not mocking Jersey, I love Jersey, and part of what I love about it is that some things never changed. These are often things that are dear to me, which is why I love them instead of thinking WTF why won’t they just change already?!?!)
Anyway, rocking out is almost as important as standing around trying to look like you’re doing something so that the crazed instructor at the front of the room won’t scream at you. What? You didn’t have those kind of aerobics instructors? Clearly your workout was not going to be effective.

Hair Love
Hi, my name is Daybreak and I’m addicted to virtual hair. Whew, I feel so much better after admitting that!
I love hair – long, short, curly, straight – all kinds. I especially love it when I find a hair attachment that makes me want to never take it off. That’s exactly what happened with this hair from Action. Well, actually, I shouted “Huzzah, it must be mine!” and then proceeded to have to explain to anyone around me why I just shouted that. (In case you’re curious, it’s a reflex. I blame John Kovalic and Dork Tower.)
This skin? My favorite from al Vulo. It was a special skin for The Fashion Garrett. Unfortunately, I don’t think there is a full line of this skin – at least, I can’t find one at the mainstore. If I’m wrong about that, I would really appreciate if someone would let me know! (Or if one of the other skins at al Vulo is a good match, that would work too.) It has all of the great points I’m looking for in a skin and I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t find more options.
I know, I know, I could add makeup layers, but I haven’t found lipsticks that work well on multiple skins – does that make sense?

What do you do?

I feel… tired
I didn’t really mean for this to turn into my just posting pictures and not really writing anything (not that there’s anything wrong with that, it just wasn’t my intention for this blog), but things have been a little blah lately and I haven’t really had much to say.
That isn’t really fair to the amazing creators who make me smile every time I open up their notecards. I’ve been especially excited over Gala Phoenix’s latest faces for Curio, Lelutka’s latest hairs, and epoque’s new line – LOVE. I don’t think I really need to say how much I adore Aikea Rieko’s work.
