And then I’m all “rawr” and junk.

Plank couture is new to me, although I’ve been aware of the store for a while, I haven’t picked anything up until now. They have a whole zodiac-related collection for Culture shock, and I grabbed one of everything. I love how the inspiration is obvious, but there is clearly so much creativity that goes into each product they put out.

Culture Shock is going on until May 26th – go check it out.

I loved all of the Fantasy Faire sims this year, but my favorite had to be the Tides solely because of personal preferences. It reminds me of Rome – all the marble – and combines it right in the middle of the water… did someone read my mind?

Fantasy Faire 2012 - Tides

I sat on the benches here and communed with the birds for a bit – it was exactly what I needed.

Fantasy Faire 2012 - Tides

Okay, last day of the Fantasy Faire – time to finish up that last minute shopping, and picture taking, etc. etc. Just be sure to go, you will be disappointed if you don’t see these sims in (virtual) person. While you’re there… well, you know the drill by now.

Checking our work…

Every good fairy knows to go back and check that their work is flourishing.

Innocent Fluttering

Naturally, if you’ve already done a good job, you can easily turn a quality control visit into a chance to stop and smell the flowers.

Well, the petite train has hit, and I honestly didn’t think I’d get on, but when Aikea Rieko from Plastik was going to put her skins to them, well… I couldn’t hold out. Besides, I had heard how wonderful mesh hands were, and .. two birds and all that.
Mesh hands are wonderful. I mean, I love mesh anyway (lazy blogger is lazy and not adjusting is a dream) and this is just great. Very minimal weird angles in poses – not only is there minimal clothing adjustment, it’s fun to actually be pixie size. (You should try it, I promise it’s not addictive.)

Plastik can be found on the Ruins of Nu Orne, while Evie’s Closet is on the Tides sim. The Fantasy Faire closes tonight – so I’ll stop spamming about it, but that also means that time is running down to go check it out.

Shadow’s Claw

It was a dark and stormy night when the raiders reached the cove at Shadow’s Claw. Their ship hit rocks and they abandoned it in their determination to reach the mountainside before dawn.

Fantasy Faire 2012 - Shadow's Claw

Working their way through the town, they left it undisturbed, for once. Their goal was the keep on the mountain, and they had to reach it before daybreak or their mission would be a failure – provided the legend was true. Better not to take the chance, after all.

Fantasy Faire 2012 - Shadow's Claw

Having just passed the gates, it was clear to the defenders that the gods were, indeed on their side. Instead of waking to a battle, they woke to a new set of statues along the path down to the village. Frozen in time, the statues serve as a reminder of what happens to those who try to take this particular keep.

Better to be expedient, after all.*

*Fanciful story not endorsed by the Fantasy Faire… just something I made up wandering around the sim. It’s the kind of place that just begs for a story.

Not quite a fish…

…not quite a human, but that’s what makes mermaids so special – so magical.

Who doesn’t want to play under the water? Enjoying the sunshine and being able to swim without having to come up for air. Perfection.

But there are some small group of mermaids who want to experience life above the waves. Luckily, this one doesn’t have to worry about turning into sea foam. Still, some habits die hard – especially when you’ve first lost your tail. Thank goodness for sea shells. (More on my Flickr.)

Still Swimming

The important stuff… Mer-chandise Cove provided the beautiful mermaid outfit in picture 1 for one of their RFL donation items at the Fantasy Faire. They can be found on Siren’s Secret. The top and belt is the Tidal Treasure item from their regular catalog. So glad I got to try out this new-to-me store!

Until I volunteered to blog for this year’s Fantasy Faire, I had never considered taking on any animal avatar.

Hoof it - Rearing

Now, I’m so happy I got to try one out! This Pegasus is really cool. The horse comes on its own, the wings separately, and they come together perfectly. It also comes with an AO that lets you walk, graze, stand, and fly like a horse (with wings) would. Very cool.

Hoof it - Pegasus

Hoof it! can be found on the Tides.

It was supposed to be glamorous!

…but it was boring. She knew she looked incredible, but that would never make talking about property lines interesting.

Glamorous Boredom

The worst part was that she had hopes for today’s meeting. There was a particular prince who was supposed to be there, and she had spent a good part of the morning trying to decide the best way to get rid of everyone else handle his visit.

Finding out that the prince you were expecting is just a charmning prim-dropper… you know the type, drops a whole house on someone else’s land – without permission. Acting like any open space is their own, personal, sandbox. Well, it’s good that a practiced come hither look can also tell someone to go slither away.

Come Hither

Here’s the really important stuff… that gorgeous red dress? Evie’s Closet. Those beautifully textured table and chairs? Rustica. The table and chairs are mesh, by the way. Evie’s Closet can be found at The Tides. Rustica can be found at Devil’s Locket. If you go through the teleporter in Rustica’s shop, you can see the table and chairs displayed in the new mesh house available for a special price at the Faire. Fair warning (no pun intended) – if this is your style, you’re going to want to buy everything in sight. I know I did.
