For the Love of McQueen
AVENUE, one of SL’s modeling agencies and magazines arranged a fashion show and subsequent fundraiser “For the Love of McQueen” in tribute to the late Alexander McQueen. The fashion show has already come and gone, but the fundraiser is that the designers involved in the show will have something available in their stores to purchase and 100% of the proceeds of these purchases will go to Keep A Child Alive. Not all designers have their item out in store at the moment, but they should be there soon!
McQueen was always taking chances in fashion and the designers involved have definitely been inspired by his knack for making fashion into art – or, rather, art into fashion. Personally, I’ve always been fascinated by fashion as art, and the pieces I have been able to pick up are incredible. I will be taking pictures and posting as I have time over the next day or so – today’s piece is from 3636.
3636 (owned by dianny3636 Aeon) not only has a gown available from their couture line, but also hair with a hat (not pictured). Something I have always enjoyed about 3636 hair, which until now is all I have had a chance to experience, is how abstract and picturesque it is – and that is definitely something that has been taken over to their couture line, if this dress is any indication.
